Our Mission: Preserving Radnor Football History
Radnor High School has been playing football since 1896, and is one of the oldest programs in the country. While there have been up seasons and down seasons, this program has a rich history that is woven through the fabric of Radnor Township, Pennsylvania. Multiple generations of our families and neighbors have participated in the program. The young men who played proudly wore the Radnor uniform, and its coaches have taught their charges not only how to be better football players but also better people.
Before today, the story of Radnor Football was primarily maintained within the memories of the players, students, families and teachers whom it touched as well as their scrapbooks and boxes of mementos. Our goal is to collect, record, preserve and display the history of the program so that all can enjoy and ensure that it survives. We cannot do this alone. Your participation is essential.
What you will see here is a work in progress. We have been working diligently to collect as much historical information about the Radnor Football teams as possible. The Alumni Association of Radnor High School and the Radnor Football “Has Beens” have been integral to the effort. Our sources also include alumni and their families, newspapers, yearbooks, the Radnorite, and game programs, among others. As you can imagine, it is quite a large and sometimes difficult task. Rather than wait until we had perfect information about every Radnor Football season, we decided to publish what we have collected so far, while continuing to add and update. We encourage former players, coaches, families and fans who have additional information to contact us to add, update, or correct information on the site. Our goal is to share what we have collected and work towards completeness as additional information is available.
